Tony’s covert ops

Tony used his heightened management skills again to run a covert mission. Under cover of participating on the Cowra Breakout Tour, he proffered an excuse for an early retirement (something like work to do) but was later observed practicing laps on Mount Panorama, till late in the afternoon when some punter told him to “this place is for cars not two wheelers.”

Scotland trip takes shape sans midges

Now that Tony only has himself to manage in the workplace, he has refocused his man management skills onto the unruly beast that is the Silver Foxes. He has enlisted 6 foxes for this epic trip in May 2024 and using the take no prisoners approach to any recalcitrants may have pushed Mike from his usual laissez faire position to a definite committed maybe. Whit’s fur ye’ll no go by ye!

Palamino put down

In late March the news came through that Lewy had taken his trusty Palamino out into the back yard and shot it. “It was the most humane thing I could do; the bloody thing has been lame or sick for a few years now”, he said.

The good news is that it has been re incarnated as a BMW XR S1000. That now completes the conversion of the group from Cruisers to Sports Bikes. Hydro has been watching the metamorphosis with interest. “I wasn’t going to say anything at the start because I didn’t know you guys well enough to say how the hell are you going to do the dirt tracks I have planned on those things.”

Hydro splits and does a dirt tour sans foxes

Hydro went on a splitter tour and covered 3,500 of dirt roads around NSW and Victoria. We weren’t going to mention anything on this hallowed website, except he kept sending updates and crazy pics, so we had to put one up on the site.

The Moroccan Fox Tour to start on May 1.

The Tour which has been rolled over from 2020 to coincide with Gibster’s 60th is finally a goer. Gibster noted, “although Im 63 now I still feel like 60, so get stuffed you guys”.

Starters are Gibster (of course), Singo, Boxy, Russ and after a search party located Mike, he’s in as well.

Singo will re institute his blog on facebook after an unfortunate hacking incident has kept him off socials for a while and the web page will be updated in due course. Russ has also been given an instructional on how to use a go pro from Hydro over a few Pinots, so we shall see how that works out.

Hydro and Russ develop the Babel Stone to decipher the Foxes Ancient Blog (May 2022)

A combination of the universal translator from The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – The Babel Fish, and the traditional Rosetta Stone to translate hieroglyphics was developed to assist The Foxes move from thoughts to script. The idea was that a stream of consciousness was written onto paper, photographed and sent electronically to the lab where it was translated and put into blog form for distribution onto the web. The Gibster was the first to try it out on the recent trip and seemed to happy with the results.

Hydro adds a Helmholtz Resonator to the Fox’s Capella group (Nov 2021)

After realising his vocal chords could not match the golden tonsils of Singo and Gibbo, he has used his ingenuity to create harmonies via the new instrument. He stated that “the air inside the neck of the bottle behaves as the mass element and air contained in the remainder of the bottle makes up an elastic cushion, which acts as the spring element. Together they form an oscillating system with a specific resonance frequency that can be easily excited, as is well known, by blowing across the opening of the bottle”. They are now looking to remaster their recent album with the haunting harmonies added.

New Album by the Silver Foxes Boy Band – A Skulk of Foxes (Feb 2021)

After little encouragement, Gibbo, Singo, Hydro and Mike teamed up to form a Silver Foxes Capella group. Their first Album “A Skulk of Foxes” contains memorable hits like If I lose myself, My way and Stayin alive. Ready to stream or download on the platform of your choice.

Planning for Broken Hill Loop Trip (Feb 2021)

Gibbo has started preliminary planning for an epic ride down the Murray up to Broken Hill and back home via Dubbo. Sick of the pejorative banter about his lack of technology input, he has installed an overhead projector and screen, so that we can all follow his hand written directions. This one will be a cracker!

Another Day Another New Bike (Feb 2021)

Brother Boxy fed up with being transported by ambulance has procured an amazing Triumph Tiger 900. We were actually just as impressed by the new riding gear and post below how to get the Boxy look.
