Final day of a great tour.Happy to be out of Clearlake, a town well past its halcyon days (if it had any). Weather is fine as we head to San Francisco via Napa Valley. The entre into Napa valley through the Robert Louis Stevenson state park & over Mount St Helena was magnificent. Sun poking through the deep canopies. Lots of broad winding road.
We stopped in at St Helena for a coffee. It’s a lovely high end town. This is a well off place. It is Memorial Weekend in the US so expected to be very busy. We gave Napa a miss and drove through Senoma. Nothing there. We continue on to San Francisco. The drive across the Golden gate bridge was superb. Steve then wanted to show us some great views over San Francisco so we wound our way up Mount Tamalpais. This is a place only the locals would know about. It was a tough winding road to the top.
Unfortunately the view was foggy but we were still able to appreciate it. We headed down the mountain toward San Francisco, heading to Oakland Harley Davidson to return our bikes. Surviving the ride across the Bay Bridge is a feat in itself. Fast, frequent lane changes. We did it. A great sense of achievement for all. Back to our Hotels in San Francisco and our celebration dinner at John’s Grill in Ellis St near Union Square. Beky, Dave & Trudie have arrived in SF to welcome the Foxes home. Now it’s time to sit back and reflect on the scramble that was the last two weeks. 3,100 miles in 11 days. Everyone safe!
THAT’S IT FOLKS. ANOTHER FOX ADVENTURE OVER.
