Larrau- Ainsa

With Boxys tank near to full as he skipped the loop ride yesterday, everyone was relaxed that there would be no range anxiety today. We did a breathtaking run through Portalet Pass. There was too much scenery to absorb…Hydro will be replaying the go pro videos tonight to see what we forgot., he stopped counting the “goods” when they got to 30. We have now re entered Spain and gone through a couple of ski resorts, which Mike had predicted. When asked how he knew that, he said “I actually read about where we were going today”. Suffice to say we have made Mike head of research now. We the went down into the valley only to head back up to the peaks through Ordesa NP and down again through Monte Perido into the Ancient city Ainsa. The curvitage has exceeded even that of the Alps tour as all the roads have curves not just the passes. We have turned so many times we reached a point of circularity. Arrived at our hotel and regrouped for a tour of the old town. Hydro was still plugged in with his nav so just converted to walking mode and led us through the town.

Back to our hotel and Hydro hit the bar and was waiting for his glass of Rioja when Boxy made an appearance and in his best Spanish managed to cancel Hydros order and replace it with his own. He has been referred to the committee for “usurption” which is a higher crime than spillage or blending!

Wednesday was a rest day, but Hydro and Russ did a four hour loop around the mountains, while Boxy investigated dinner options and Mike did a work from home which was really Work from Spain.

Hydro and Russ’s trip was slightly sublime…no traffic, great roads and magnificent scenery. The danger is we get a bit blasé.

We regrouped at 6.30pm and went up to the old town for dinner. Mike announced that our average speed over the last 2 days was 59kms/h. We know he is in charge of research, but wanted to validate whether he just divided our distance by time to conclude that stat!

Boxy planned our meal tonight which was a cracker. Tapas in the old town was a treat and we had everything on the menu plus the most expensive wines on the menu and it was the cheapest meal of the trip…. got to love Spain!

We have noted though that Boxy attracts cats 🐈‍⬛even though he is allergic to them and for two nights now they seem to stalk him.

Big day tomorrow so hitting the hay..
