Andy headed off to get his bike this morning so we had a late start. Met at bikes at 8.30 & down to dealership to meet Andy. All elated that Boxy’s boots have been fixed. It was very stressing for us….all day. Headed out of town & into the desert within minutes. We were met by strong buffeting winds as we travelled down the expressway. Every man for them self. Stopped for refresher & pep talk at Mesquite. With the words from Russ ringing in our ears, “Are we dicking around all day or are we gonna ride (hard!)” we were back into it.

We crossed 3 states today. Nevada, Arizona & Utah. At about 12.30 we hit ZION NP. We are riding through huge red rock mountains with trees sparsely covering. We just passed thru Rockville…can u believe it. Must be a lot of rocks around here? Lunch at Wildcat Willies Saloon in Springdale. Buy some vest patches and on our way. We rode around the park and took the obligatory numerous photos in various postures. Competition for Foxes male model of the year is intense. The ride out of the park to Kanab was superb. Fast and curvy. Singo led the charge from the back which had the desired result. Hydro met the challenge and the others joined in.

Drinks at the Iron Horse. More photos. Hydro not well today so we do everything to keep up his morale. Without him we will be lost forever in the desert. He’s been on water all day until now, but an extra beer has arrived. Should he have it? He answered his own question, “It’s like putting a steak in front of a dog”. (& he’s really enjoying his phone). We are listening to live country music, Mad Mike Ewing. He is like a country gnome puppet. We have put in our requests. Bugger, doesn’t know Convoy! Big day in the saddle tomorrow so we are crashing early.
