Essaouira to Marrakesh – 11 May 2023 (179kms)

ALERT: You may have noticed a change of tone in the blog. The editor (Russ) is now providing closer observation of Singo (Blogger-in-Chief) who has refused to hold himself to account for the last 10 years. The Foxes feel it is time for payback!

A lazy morning at the hotel. Noon departure to Marrakech.

Its a slog inland for 200kms & 40degs before you know it.

Marrakech is a change of pace. It is a large city and the first signs of modern civilisation since we arrived in Morocco. Shopping malls and big hotels.

Our Hotel (JAAL RIAD) is grand and the afternoon is spent lounging around the pool.

Into the Medina for dinner tonight. A wonderful rooftop restaurant, Cafe Bazar. After dinner, a walk to the famous town square. It’s a huge space and pulsating with a lot of energy, music.

Back to the hotel by 10. Some level of fatigue kicking in and notice that going to bed and watching the BBC news is an attractive option!
