We leave San Francisco via Highway 80 and ride across the Bay Bridge to Oakland. We then follow the I-580 through to Tracey and then onto interstate 5 briefly and then onto Highway 108 all the way through to Yosemite. From Yosemite head into Oakhurst via Highway 41

First day on the road. The cry of “Let’s Ride!” goes up. Unfortunately we didn’t go far. Boxy’s bike failed on the start up and we couldn’t get out of the garage cos the door wouldn’t open. After procuring jumper cables we departed SF and headed out over the Oakland Bridge, content that we were still upright (Rubber on the road and shiny side up).
Called in at the Harley dealership for some bike adjustments. Now on our way to Yosemite NP.
Leader Hydro (still in training) took a couple of wrong turns which however, turned out to be right turns. Yosemite NP greeted us with pine tree covered mountains until we found ourselves in Yosemite valley, the real Jurassic park. Rock formations are mighty big. Lots of photos. Mike got the male model shot of the day.
Unfortunately, seeking the money shot, we took on one stop too many, Glacier Point at 5000ft. There was snow, rain etc. We didn’t sign up for this & didn’t hang around. Onto Oakhurst for our very comfy Comfort Inn. Arrived late (thanks Boxy) and straight down to the local Italian restaurant for pizza & wine. Better now. Nightcap at the Dirty Donkey tavern.
Two takeaways from today: 1. Back in the swing with our 2 finger signaling to passing motorcyclists, and 2. Mike needs staggered formation training (& a nickname!). Often caused chaos as he swung from side to side in the lane causing everyone to adjust!
