Tony probably should be renamed Tripple Threat Tone after the last couple of weeks; he has taken to organising this tour as well as becoming the blogger to enable total control of the narrative and I’m guessing he was navigating as well. The takeover is now complete! Singo critiqued his blog and said ” well he’s probably as good as Russ, but he has some growing to do to step into my shoes. Without embellishing further here is Tonys Blog!
Turramurra to Moss Vale via Glendenning.
Met Hydro at 3:30pm Friday to allow 1 hour to get to Tasman Tanks to rendezvous with Pete. On arrival to Hydro’s Tony realises that he has had “avoid motorways” on his maps function and the trip will actually only take 35 minutes.
Obviously arrive early to Pete and take the opportunity to survey the tank factory.
While waiting for Pete, Hydro identifies that he is missing a charging cable for his phone. He asks Tony if he has a USB to C cable and much to Hydro’s, and indeed Tony’s surprise, Tony reaches into his pannier bag and produces said cable! A first for the group!
Pete suits up is new BMW riding gear looking very much the part and we take off to the much loved Dormie Hotel in Moss Vale.
Busy on M7 but when traffic breaks a great ride to Mitagong where Hydro took the lead for a very scenic run into Moss Vale.
Walked to dinner at the Highlands Taphouse and on the way spotted the now derelict “Allan’s Motel” which reminded us of “Allan” on Route66!
Great day!

Moss Vale to Goulburn via Bateman’s Bay, Tarago and Gunning:
Meeting up with Gibbo (ED Note I think the preferred pronoun is Gibster) and Andy R this morning. Gibbo arrived at 8:00am having battled heavy fog and very cold conditions.
Andy is a little late as broke his glasses at a servo stop on the way and tried to repair them which is always a challenge when you obviously cannot see what you are doing!
All ready to head off at around 9:00am when the inevitable “gas” conversation starts with Hydro ensuring Pete that he has enough gas to get to Nowra but is pretty sure we will pass a servo in Kangaroo Valley. Gibbo, who owns a property in the valley, proclaims that no such servo exists anymore so we were all very surprised to find out that a service station had been built in Kangaroo Valley in the space of a morning!
Pete happy to see it and we all gas up for days journey.
Great riding through to lunch at The Loaded Dog in Tarago. Hydro departs so he can make it home for a family function that evening.
Unfortunately for the rest of us the wait for lunch is over 1 hour as the one pub in town has a live band on that afternoon and it is packed. However the time was well spent with Gibbo and Pete providing endless quantities of tools and gadgets to help Andy repair his glasses. Clearly if he
needed a USB to C cable Tony would have rushed in to help! Glasses repaired!
Managed to depart Tarago at around 3pm and went on some
magnificent back roads through Gunning, Grabben Gullen and then to Goulburn.
Great dinner at The Tattersall Hotel.

Goulburn to Turramurra
We awoke to a cloudy rainy morning in Goulburn. On with the wets, Tatts Cafe for a Bacon Egg roll and coffee then off to Oberon. Wheels up at the allotted time of 0800👍
We made solid progress in the rain managing to dodge the odd Kangaroo.
Andy R had a bit of fun negotiating a section of super steep inclines with his lack of traction control but given he was riding shotgun we only found out about this stress after he caught up to us!
Pete and Tony were pretty happy with the conditions as given it was around 10 degrees and raining this was the perfect practice run for the Scotland tour.
Coffee at Oberon then off to a contact of Gibbo’s to see an old Talbot car body as it may have potential for a car club colleague of his. Pull into this shed with about 7 old cars, trucks and tons of spare parts. Then the guy takes us into his house to see another 2 cars via the laundry area that is also full of spare parts!
Amazing what exists out in the country.
Rain had stopped and we made tracks to Lithgow arriving at about 1200. Had a light lunch then straight for Bells Line of Road home. As always this road does not disappoint and was relatively quiet so great fun!
One comment that was made at lunch referred to the fact that we did not encounter gravel roads on the tour. I still cannot determine if that was a comment based on disappointment or relief😳
Anyway, thanks to Hydro, Gibbo, Andy and Pete for another cracking adventure full of great riding, great crack and wonderful memories!
