Girls recovering from jet lag. Boys starting to feel the effects of 10 straight days of riding. After several laps of the Trondheim industrial estate looking for Avis & fuel (Boxy didn’t need any!), we took off for Geiranger. The ride this morning was fairly uneventful other than the Foxes displaying their fabulous skills by overtaking the girls in the car – ducking & diving and generally being marvelous and strutting like peacocks. The Ferry to Andalsnes marked the start of one of the magnificent bike rides. The Ferry however, gave us the chance to review the chicken strips on the bikes. “DEFINITION: chicken strips The strips of unscathed rubber on the outer edges of a motorcycle tire caused by the rider being too “chicken” to lean the motorcycle all the way to the edge. Used as a measurement of a rider’s skill in most cases.” A picture of the loser is attached. Without calling anyone out, he has a couple of days to improve the position. We then climbed to the summit of Trollstigel, a long series of hairpin bends. Waterfalls chundering down on both sides. We arrive at the summit with lots of snow on the ground. Photo opps. Then off we go down the other side of the mountain and into a magnificent long & deep valley. Another Ferry and then a climb to Eagles Nest and then drop down into Geiranger on the water. Arrived late after a huge day on the bikes. Dinner at the hotel.
